Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of clients do you take?
I take clients who are ready to grow. If you are ready to maximize your potential, grow as a person, and reach new heights as a leader, than you're the kind of client I would love to work with. I also often get asked if I only take clients from central Iowa. Of course not! Thanks to the internet, I can and do work with people from anywhere in the world.
People often ask if I only take clients in higher education or ministry because that is where the bulk of my professional work has been. In response, I love to coach in those worlds but do not coach explicitly in those fields. Don't hesitate to contact me just because you aren't in higher education or ministry.
Can I get your chili recipe?

What is leadership coaching?
Leadership coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. A coach is a collaborative partner, not a hired expert. I'm here to help you become a better leader by drawing out the potential you already have within you.
How do you measure a client’s success?
Your success is determined by you. We will work together to determine your values and vision. Then, we will develop a plan to get you from where you are now to where you want to be. Success is then measured in forward movement, not end location. If you feel like you made sufficient progress for the time and effort put in, then you can measure it as a success.
Where did you get your qualifications?
Qualifications are important. I have received coach training from both Professional Christian Coaching Institute and Grand View University. I also hold a bachelors degree in education from Wartburg College and masters degree in organizational leadership from Grand View University. Beyond that, I have had several years of leadership experience in the professional world. I am also on staff as a coach and facilitator at The Center for Mentoring, Coaching, & Leadership Development at Grand View University.
Do we meet in person?
Yes, we can meet in person if you would like and are able to travel to Ames, IA. Many clients choose to meet over some form of video chat like Zoom or Skype as well. Ultimately, it comes down to how you feel most comfortable communicating and what fits most comfortably into your schedule.
